Wow! This was a masterclass in escalating dystopias: every new piece of tech in the first cycle of the story feels more and more unsettling, starting with something inoffensive (clothes that change pattern and colour) and escalating gradually to technology that invades and controls the brain. The second cycle deals with upgrades that completely change identity pre-birth and the third reaches the horrific, logical conclusion where people have ceased to be people, completely subsumed by their own technology. The dark humour here is fantastic: At the start, you absolutely nail the chirpy, empty-headed voice of someone monetising their own kids and shilling for corrupt corporations at the same time, seeing nothing wrong in it. The subtlest, most unsettling and best joke is that the voice doesn't change at all when it becomes part of a corporate body and, finally, a soulless AI management system. It says more awful things, but the tone of expression is exactly the same. It helps create the through-line from cynical mommy-blog to technological nightmare. Extremely brilliant work as always, my friend.
Another peak post after 10 commandmants. This time, a ten evolution of controlling hooman. When a machine understand hooman psychology... A darklord machine poet reign.
Amaze-balls as usual, MP! This made me grin and cringe — especially as we tilted into that steep gruesome darkness by the end … wow. 😮 That last section sinks in your gut like hardening concrete. Amazing execution. Also I definitely want that first Nike SuperThreads thing. 💀
I was right you did not disappoint as I knew you would not.....not crazy about the president in the future but then probably won't be around so won't matter......Thank you once again for a great read....the prophecy of the future.....and things to think about.......and I agree i love the changing clothes....somehow they need to make them wear and wash so no laundry to deal with.
Machine Poet, this story started out as satire and quickly turned very dark. My first reaction to the earlier section was that I'm glad my kids are grown and there's no grandchildren. The second half was really dystopian. I kept thinking of the movie Soylent Green when you discussed food paste.
I'm no fan of Elon Musk so those references didn't bother me. Not sure how you got from Mommy Blogger to dystopian end of humans. It's always hard to know when you've crossed the line from satire to a really dark, icky place. This story crossed into some pretty dark places for me.

Escalating dystopias.
I like the sound of that progression.
You always nail it, PVT.
Appreciate you very much!
No worries! Always happy to take a close look at a great story, and your stories are consistently great!
It is a scary 😨 future certainly.
It really is.
"How does the paste taste?"
"Oh, it varies from person to person."
- shamelessly updated Soylent Green joke :)
Would you believe I saw it for the first time after writing this.
So wonderful.
Didn't even need machines to assist.
I think it might be time to head off for the woods and go feral.
Smart idea, Jeannine.
But not Elon Musk smart...
Ok but I do want the Nike Superthreads(tm).
In the mail!
That is probably the weirdest think I have read in a long time.
Mission accomplished.
I should fix that spelling mistake in the comment but nah.

I want PeerMap now to use on Substack.
And I have a sudden need to watch Gattaca.
And the balance, I'll be retired in Mustique and might cut off any connection to the civilized world.
How much do you think these bloggers make in affiliate $?
Hysterical. Smacks of all the MLM mommies I have ever had on my FB friendslist over the years. Nailed it and made it darker. ♥️👏🏻
Hilarious, creepy and frighteningly probable.

Can you believe humans used to fornicate for FUN?! MESSY! #WOKE
I'm going to go stand and stare at a wall now.💜
Somehow you made shameless promotional mommy bloggin' even more terrifying. But that's the cheapest I've seen Disney+.
Yo your brain is wild AF 🙀 this is top tier!!

Me too, Bruce.
If I had a stomach, this would turn it sideways.
For a forward thinking unit, your predictions seem very…limited. Can’t we accomplish this all by 2039?
And, this is MP brilliant, as always.
Aggressive.
I like it.
Thanks, Kim!
