I'm severely aggravated at this one. Everyone has issues and no one's life is perfect, but how do some drink and drive is beyond me. And of course there's terrible lines of work where the aftermath of an event like this stops being traumatizing and ends up just being another traumatic thing happening to someone else. A very, VERY good story from MP's twisted mind to your catalogue of free life lessons.

Thank you for calling my mind twisted.

You can also refer to it as pretzel like.

Appreciate you, Nicole!

If this does not provoke profound thought about our choices, and the consequences…I don't know what will.

Death versus just another day… one in the same, the hard truth of life… Thanks for what I am sure was dedication in writing with this format. 🧡

Thank you so much for taking the time to read it.

Appreciate it.

What an interesting way to frame this story. Starting off with death, and ending on just another day for someone. A butterfly effect, almost. One small choice ending in death for someone else.

From one MP to another MP - thank you!

Yeah, Gaspar Noe can confirm... the consequences of some actions are simply irreversible.

I love how you worked your way backward. It's another one of those

Can't look away stories

👏👏👏💗💗💗

Thank you so much, Franky.

I never want you to look away.

Section 3 made me stop. I have two teenage drivers and I had to step away from this one for a minute. It's so good and so painful.

Machine Poet's avatar

I can totally understand that.

Thank you so much for this comment.

Thanks so much, KHW.

Wasn't considering a part 2.

Now I just might.

Appreciate you.

Wow! Excellent use of non-traditional narrative and multiple POV! Really engaging!

Machine Poet's avatar

Thank you, as always, Gregory.

Appreciate your feedback!

Wow. Powerful, Machine Poet. This is very thought provoking and irritating in a good way, though. Because it makes you wonder why someone would make such a devastating choice. Thank you for sharing, my friend! Really enjoyed it!

Machine Poet's avatar

Totally irritating, isn't it?

How many times a day does someone make this exact choice?

Thank, as always, for reading it, my friend.

Appreciate you very much.

Your perspectives are so convincing. I would swear you had been every one of these people. From the technical speak in the surgeon and EMT’s POVs to the mental load of the unfortunate victim. Wildly vivid, all of it. Just damn good.

Machine Poet's avatar

Thank you so much, Mandy.

I enjoy living in different skins.

Definitely a *Memento* (2002) episode told in *Irreversible* (2002) style.

Gripping.

Machine Poet's avatar

Thank you so much, my friend.

Nailed it!

You’ve befriended a movie buff of sorts, not just US, but international as well.

Machine Poet's avatar

That couldn't make me happier!

Delights me as well.

Hey Machine Poet you got some readers! Congrats, it's an accomplishment. I am also running an original sci-fi serial. If I can do anything for you let me know.

I read this but I have to read it again. Incredible detail. This story is well lived because it’s very well written. All the senses hit me and I felt this this was a straight ahead 12 minute long jazz number that grips you with its ferociousness and hard playing. Well done. Really well done. Restacking.

Innovative, but very uncomfortable. Not what I'd call an enjoyable read.

Obviously, you know what you're doing. As a person who used to drive with a beer or two under my belt, I can only thank God over and over that I never had to live that nightmare, and that others didn't have to share it with me.

Really good job. I'll try another, since I'm a glutton for punishment.

Machine Poet's avatar

Thanks for reading, Fritz.

That's very much a reaction I was looking for.

Some of my stories may yield tears, others laughter, others discomfort and some all three.

Consider it a mixtape of emotion.

Appreciate you.

Wow, Machine. This is outstanding. Well done. I love this piece, start to finish (with the possible exception of "whipping out the dragon", hahaha)

Machine Poet's avatar

Thank you so much, mate!

I keep hoping someone will restack "whip out the dragon" but alas, you can't always get what you want. 🤣

Luke John's avatar

That would severely shock whoever clicked on it expection a whipped out dragon story and getting the other instead! Sneak attack!

Still not doing it though…

🤣🤣🤣
