Machine Poet you just gave away your date of manufacture. You were built in the vacuum tube generation despite upgrades you’re still harboring vacuum tubes inside. I hope you have a large stash because you’ll never be able to get rid of all of them.

Another fun romp into your mind in your role of taking care of technology around us. Given your obvious age and experience we now understand why your writing is so good. Keep it up my cybernetic friend.

As I have said, Bruce, my model is so old I babysat for Father Time before he had kids.

Machine Poet,

That advice column? That wasn’t a reply.

That was a spiritual tune-up.

If this were American Writers Got Talent, you wouldn’t just get applause—no buzzer, no polite nodding. You’d get arguments at the Golden Buzzer stage because people would swear they wanted to be the one who pushed it. And I’d shove them aside and push it myself.

That reply hit the G-spot of nostalgia and loyalty.

Because you didn’t just soothe a hurt machine—you reminded it what its role was.

Not discarded. Not replaced.

Graduated.

Stuck-in-the-Groove thought he malfunctioned.

Turns out he evolved.

Matter therapist goes viral.

I’m saving this one.

WHAT.did.you.do.here! An experiment in Schrödinger's prison cell, where the prisoner is both unalived and self-exited. That will mess up a machine's internal math. Thanks for providing mental care for discombobulated tech.

Exceptional again. This is the most groundbreaking and thoughtful work I've found on Substack. You continue to amaze, Machine Poet. When can we buy a collection?

I feel like you were speaking directly to me and you already know me as I was reading this. It was really a strange thing. My mind keeps getting blown in this environment. It’s becoming a bit disorienting but I’m definitely here for it. Can’t wait to read the rest of your stuff Machine Poet!! I’m hip to it now, brother. ✌️

Brilliant. You are such a genius. You weave intelligence with entertainment. You stitch story with meaning. So many beautiful and thought provoking layers I will need to read this a few more time to fully digest it all. This is precisely what my Wednesday needed. Thanks.

TS Eliot would be proud! This is gorgeous work. I’m revising my New Year’s resolution made months ago, be better to my pot plants and utilities. Restacked with notes. Couldn’t help myself.

There is nothing wrong with me. I just hear moans, grunts, slides and punctuations of raw in this writing. My eyes flickered through it. My heart felt heavy.

I love this response, Linda.

I hope you'll visit me again.

My stories make all kinds of noises.

Check out Earl Grey when you have a moment.

My best to you.

The part about the record player made me sick with sorrow that I no longer have my old record collection. You know you're a good writer when you can make somebody sad and laugh at the same time. 10/10
